Parliament House

Parliament House is one of the important public buildings in Singapore. Parliament House of Singapore is situated in the Civic District of Downtown Core within Singapore's Central Business District. The building is situated close to Raffles Place which lies across the Singapore River.
Due to space constrain in Old Parliament House, this building is constructed for various political affairs and discussions. There were various reforms that took place in Singapore and its governmental policies. The number of members increased to 75 from 51 and that created a space problem. The New Parliament house with its wonderful architecture and historical significances attract tourists to visit one of the monuments in Singapore.
The project started in the in the year 1983 and it was headed by Liu Thai Ker of Urban Redevelopment Authority. The new parliament house was designed by the public Work Department which encompasses new blocks named Chamber Block, Front Block and Public Block. In the year 1992, the building is allotted as the National Monument. The building is famous for its unique design and architecture with prism shaped roof top. The main entrance is the North Bridge Road.
Parliament house of Singapore is a must visit for the tourist as the monument is the base of Singaporean political sphere.
