New Zealand Currency

New Zealand - Auckland - Christchurch - Queenstown - Wellington
The New Zealand Dollar is the currency of New Zealand along with the Pitcairn Islands, Cook Islands, Nieu and Tokelau since 1967. The abbreviated form of the currency is NZ$. Informally it is known as the Kiwi dollar. Each dollar is divided into hundred cents. The New Zealand dollar came into being after the New Zealand Pound, the former currency of the nation was nullified during the years 1967-69. From the 31st of July, 2006 the New Zealand Government removed the five cent coins from the market and introduced smaller 10, 20 and 50 cents. There are notes of five, ten, twenty, fifty and hundred NZD. All the coins of New Zealand has the design of the standard effigy of the Commonwealth of HM, the Queen. Some things are to remembered regarding the currency of New Zealand. The five dollar note has a special object at the left hand side of the bottom. In some of the old notes the signature of Don Brash, the ex Governor of New Zealand is found yet. On the newer notes you will find the signature of Allan Bollard. The most important identification of a real NZD is the letters RBNZprinted along the underside. The value of 1NZD is .6852 USD.
