Pangkor boasts of a number of fisherman’s villages with traditional Malaysian houses. Pangkor Town and a number of other villages have a number of little food stalls that serve some the local favorite dishes while the more up market hotels offer a range of Asian and Western food including excellent local coffee, cuttlefish and anchovies.
Accommodations are not a problem in Pangkor. If you are traveling on a low budge you need not worry since there are a number of excellent cheap guesthouses and beach huts. There is everything up to five star hotels as well . Pangkor offers a number of attractions as well in the vicinity which are definitely worth a visit. These include the mining city of Taiping, the Royal City of Kuala Kangsar or the capital of Perak, Ipoh. The coastal area is full of fishing villages like Pantai Remis. The fish farms around Pulau Pangkor should not be missed. The fishermen will be happy to take you around the area for a few ringits. Buy the fish and your restaurant to prepare it for you.
Pangkor offers something for everyone. You could hang around the beach or indulge in many activities that the place offers. There is a lot of history surrounding this place and a number of temples that may interest you.
