Kyoto is surrounded on three sides by mountains and cut through by rivers. The
beauty of the place is such that even a short-time visitor can soon get an appreciation
of what this ancient capital has to offer.
Spring and autumn are the best period to visit Kyoto. The summers (June-Aug)
can be muggy, it's still a nice time to be there. If you really want to avoid
crowd, winter (Dec-Feb) - though very cold - might be the best time to book
your tickets.
Kyoto features different codes of conduct for different places. The rules and
mannerisms vary depending on the locations and points of interests, situations
and conditions. So it is better to know a few things on Kyoto customs, culture,
tradition and norms followed by the locals, as the same is expected from the
tourists as well.
