With majestic gardens and parks, architecturally brilliant temples and Buddhist
shrines, Kyoto often features on the list for one of Japan's most sought after
tourist destinations. Getting to Kyoto by Air is one of the most popular modes
of travel among the tourists.
There is no airport, either domestic or international, in Kyoto city. The nearest
airport in case of domestic flights is Osaka's Itami airport. International
travelers however take advantage of Kansai international airport (KIX). Getting
to Kyoto by Air may not be literally true but Kyoto can nonetheless be reached
by air by reaching to the nearest destination.
Getting to Kyoto by road is preferred by the travelers mostly. The reason not
only lies in comparatively low fare of a bus ride but a journey through Japan's
lush green country side is really considered a treat for the eyes.
