The Menachem Begin Heritage Center is actually a museum that is inspired by the life of Menachem Begin who was a former Israeli Prime Minister and a Nobel Peace Prize winner. The museum was set up by a person called Harry Hurwitz who was an old friend of the former Nobel Laureate and ex prime minister. The ambience of the place along with architecture is a reminiscence of the great leader and the structure and the building complements the character of the great leader who had an air of dignity about him. The exhibits throw light into the life and works of Menachem Begin and one starts the tour with the streets of Brisk where the great leader was born and the tour takes you to Warsaw where begin was arrested and sent to a Soviet Prison. Then the visitors are transported to the secret headquarters of Irgun where Begin had plotted against the British Mandatory Government. The visitors can also have access to Begin’s speeches tracing his political career from a leader of the opposition to becoming the sixth Prime Minister of Israel. Even a reconstruction of the private residence of the former Prime Minister is also there for people to see and enjoy. The main aim of The Menachem Begin Heritage Museum in Jerusalem is to educate the young minds on the life and contribution of the former Prime Minister something which Begin might have had initiated during his life time. To help the students understand the legal process of Israel there is a replica of a Knesset which explains the process in which the legal processes of the Israel government functions. The The Menachem Begin Heritage Museum has slowly evolved into a heritage center and a top tourist attraction in Israel. It is a tribute to a man who had devoted his entire life for the betterment of the Jewish people in their own land.
