Germany has got an extensive and comprehensive social welfare system. The large ethnic chunk that comprises Germans has also the strands of four communities that are minorities in terms of population figures. These four minority segments among the ethnic Germans are Frisians, Danes, Sinti, Sorbs and Roma. The Frisians mostly occupy Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. In Schleswig-Holstein too you’ll find the biggest population of Danes. The Sorbs are a race of Slavic people based in Brandenburg and Saxony. The Romas are scattered all over Germany.
