His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa the oldest son of the late Amir
of Bahrain, Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa was a very liberal man who expressed
his keenness on learning swimming, horse riding and target shooting from expert
trainers. He had a major influence in encouraging various kinds of sports in
Bahrain. It was primarily under his patronage that the horse riding at Bahrain
in Persian Gulf reached towards glory.
Horse Riding at Bahrain is a great option for foreign tourists. From ancient

To learn horse riding in Bahrain there are many schools some of them are:
Awali Riding Club which has qualified instructors is opened for visitors from
Saturdays to Thursdays, 7am-7pm. Visitors can also enjoy desert rides on horseback
in this club.
Bahrain Riding School is opened daily for visitors from 4pm-6pm.
The Dilmun club was founded in 1974 and has grown into the premier private
club in Bahrain. It is opened from Sundays Thursdays.
Shakhoora Riding School is opened for visitors from Sundays- Thursdays at 8am-12noon.
The Country Club which is opened only in Friday at 1 pm - 4 pm offers horse
riding in paddock.
