"We stayed here for six nights in October, the location is about 15 minutes walk from the city, the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to many more stays here excellent value for money"

"As others have noted, this hotel, while not far from the airport (and the big Central shopping plaza) is not close to the "action" in town. Although it's just a $1 red-taxi ride away, there is nothing of any interest in walking distance, which can be a problem, as the hotel's restaurant is not good at all (breakfast is minimal, with instant coffee and fake juice, and service is way below general Thai hotel standards). The front desk people do their best to be of service -- please note that their phone system is not adequate for making any kind of international call, which was a big minus for me. The beds are old and saggy, and there are no comfortable chairs. But a fridge is provided, which is nice. There was only a hand-held shower, and a very minimal one at that. There is a pleasant swimming pool, and the grounds are very nice. You can't really complain for the price, although for just a little more you can (with proper research) stay in a much more upscale studio condo in a much better part of town."

"The hotel itself is beautiful, made entirely of teak wood, and also has a perfectly manicured and very pleasant garden. Though the hotel is a bit off the beaten path, we found it provided the perfect respite after surviving the chaos of Bangkok. A redcar or tuk-tuk ride to within the inner mote is worth staying a little outside the city limits. "

"the reception lady was very nice and helpful, just the location is too far away from the downtown area. You can spend the same amount or even cheaper price to get a room in city center with similar quailty just without much facilities (there is a swimming pool in Baantai, but seems not many ppl used it (including me)). But if you prefer living near the airport, it may be your pick."

"I stayed at the hotel with my 12 yo daughter for five nights in July 2008. Staff were extremely warm, helpful and friendly Teak, ornate Hotel full of character Pool was exceptionally clean and garden was beautiful Location - an easy and fun tuk tuk ride to the centre. Quite nice to withdraw from the action for a blissful afternoon swim at Baantai. Our thanks to the wonderful staff - we would deinately recommend this hotel and stay there again!"

"Nice traditional hotel. Very very friendly and helpful staff. A little out of the city but can easily get into town on a tuk tuk for 50b. Near to the airport. The room was basic but nice. The bathroom floor seemed a little gruby although I did cope with it and I'm a stickler for cleanliness. I would def stay in this hotel again. "

"A short city break for 3 nights. Breakfast was included in the price and great value. There was an outdoor swimming pool available but we were too busy discovery the city & surrounds to make use.It was however very well kept and clean. The rooms were basic but expected at the price we paid for the accommodation. Only one small critism and that is the air conditioning unit was quite noisy! Overall a very pleasent stay and I would definitley stay at Baantai again."

"The shower could be better, but all in all a good option near the airport."
