| "Friendly staff who are helpful. The rooms are much bigger than expected of a budget hotel. Affordable indeed.
Its pretty near to shopping areas. walkable distance to Indra regent hotel which will link you to pratunam and platinum mall. Traffic can be quite bad sometimes and taxi drivers usually drop us off at Indra Regent hotel instead. But it wasnt a major problem since the hotel is just a overhead bridge away. Overall, it was a good experience staying at PJ Watergate hotel. Will definitely stay there again." |

| "Breakfast is good. Value for money especially for budget travellers. Do not expect much though the basic necessity like towels and etc is prepared. Receptionist are very friendly and they speaks quite good english. There's a kind of smell in the room. Yet we can get a better room/hotel the day after but with the same price which is from Pattaya. | "A piece of advice. Ask for an upper floor room. After receiving a warm and friendly greeting we were very disapointed with our room. Although we had requested a preference for an upper floor room, we were given a ground floor room opposite the bar which had music playing each night. The main problem though was the smell coming from the bathroom. It smelled like raw sewerage. I immediately called reception to send someone to investigate. Nobody came so we went to reception and they told us someone would check it immediately. We went for dinner in the hotel restaurant which was nice and not too expensive. upon return of our room we found they had just sprayed the bathroom and put in an air freshner. In the morning we asked for another room and the staff seemed to be very unfriendly as if we were being awkward. We were given a room on the 2nd floor which was a lot better with no smells.
After that our stay was pleasant the hotel is conveniently situated for the big world trade centre shopping malls with Siam square about a 25min walk." |

| "I stayed here Oct 13 2008 to Oct 15, 2008 (1000 Baht.) $30. US.
Friendly staff. Well managed excellent budget hotel. There are 5 floors. A small (only 4 people at a time) lift at the far end of the hall. To find the lift turn right and walk down the hall behind the reception desk.
Request a room above the 1st floor and you’ll be fine. ~The 1st floor rooms are bad. I stayed on the 5th floor. Standard room. Big bath tub, hot water.
Big rooms, very clean, comfortable, big bed. Clean room with all the amenities. Courtyard is big with a lovely seating area. Can sit outside in the evening as it's beautifully lit up at night. Nice pond with huge Koi fish.
Good selection English channels on TV. Safety box at desk, ~Do take a pad lock for safety box. Very secure and well managed.
Safe for female travelers traveling alone. Allow 20 minutes for check out. They will carry your bags to and from your room. About 40 minutes to airport. Very short distance to main street. Street food in the same soi …just walk toward the main street, look to the left and you’ll find gai (chicken) sate’. There is a 7/11 near the corner at the main street.
I usually pass on the breakfast when I stay in a budget place but this place was the exception. Have stayed in many places in Thailand and this place had the most unbelievable breakfast. Not the usual boring fruit, eggs and sausage etc.
Breakfast was a delightful surprise. ~Good Asian selection! (This is rare.) As well as a good choice of Western food of course. The Asian food was unbelievably tasty! I have never seen a selection like this before.
There is Internet at the hotel but it's expensive. ~Walk to the main street (1 short block.) Turn right, on the main street. Walk 1 block to soi 8. On the same side of the street, under the steps to the BTS is a high speed, A/C Internet cafe that is CHEAP, CHEAP! (About 25 Baht an hour.) User friendly.
The map for the taxi is not good at Asiarooms but this is the cheapest web site to book. Google: thailand1X1.com (Scroll down and click Pj Watergate Hotel. Print the map in Thai for Taxi from this site. It is an excellent map. I used this map and had no problem finding the place.
Everything went very smooth. (NOTE: There are also signs up high on the corner of buildings for taxi’s to see.) This hotel is a short distance down the soi that is opposite Indra Regent Hotel.
Other budget hotels can also be found on the same soi such as Boran Guest House 850 Baht but Pj’s courtyard really appealed to me.
Pj's was handy to shop at Platinum Mall. To get to this mall, walk to the main street, turn left, walk about 2 blocks down, walk across the over pass, walk straight a head ˝ block. The Mall is on the opposite side of the street. NOTE: You don’t have to walk another block to the next over pass to cross.
~There is a cross walk. (Look where the Thais walk across the street.) Viola! You are at Platinum Wholesale Mall..

| "This is my first time staying at Pj watergate and the experience was made good by the excellent service of the staff. The staff are really friendly and responsive to requests. They are also generally young so it's easier to 'click' with them.
Room-wise, I'll much prefer Samram Place cos it looks cleaner and brighter. I got the third floor of Pj and the rooms are quite old looking. Had a peek at second floor rooms and they're much cleaner and brighter.
Location-wise, it's really near to all the shopping places like Platinum, Pratunam and MBK etc. Walking distance. It's also quite a safe place as there are a lot of stalls outside the hotel so no worries about going back hotel late at night." |
