"I very much enjoyed my stay at the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel. The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable, the tea and coffee making facilities were excellent. The room was nice and quiet and the airconditioning worked well. The hotel is situated in an excellent position and I could walk everywhere I needed to go. The only thing I would say was that the bathroom although nicely appointed and was very small - two people would have trouble fitting in there at the same time. Also, the shower head kept falling down and needs some attention. Howver, overall I was most pleased with the room."

"Very Old Hotel not maintained properly the rooms are stinking and very small not of the international standard."

"Stayed in the hotel for a wee, had ample services and facilities as I only had to sleep in it. Some noises during the night due to renovation. The keycard for the room and elevators was messed up most of the time (got stuck inside the elevator a few times). Excellent lcation as it's very near the train/bus/taxi stations in City Hall area. Breakfast was ok but the same everyday; some variety would be good. Had to pay 5dollar deposit for plug adapter (should be part of room as customers are usually travelers from abroad). No hotel transfers but cab to and from airport should be easy. For non-smokers, make sure you request for rooms on the non-smoking floors. Funan Mall is just next door so it was really convenient for last minute shopping. Highly recommended hotel for the price; no frills, just what's needed for a comfortable SG stay. "

"Stayed on the Excelsior side and was very impressed with the room. Very clean and spacious with nice views over the city and this was only a standard room. Excellent position - central for all the sights and the MRT. Good breakfast."

"The hotel rooms were a bit jaded and the reception staff were not terribly helpful, trying to get me to take a smoking room - but for the price and convenient location near City Hall MRT it would be hard to beat in Singapore. For a short stopover it was fine."

"I would say a good 4 star hotel, personel is nice, helpful, rooms are very good quality and spacious, location is most convenient, central, just inbetween China town and Little India, close to all the shopping, night life on Boat Quay, etc. One stain is the internet connection, a real ripoff, way too expensive. The two swimming pools and the gym make for a pleasant stay and free use the showers after check-out, if your plane is late, is most welcome. Still on the expensive side. "

"Very much improved from last year, would recommend it for a short break, staff were very friendly and is in a good location to get to most places from."

"The location is good because it is close to the MRT station and a grand Cathedral. The bathroom is cyberly designed but the basin is not very user friendly. Disappointedly, the breakfast buffet is messy, chaotic and the food was not provided timely."
