"We arrived at 1700 to be checked in by efficient and polite reception and concierge staff with a welcomed complimentary beverage (as our room was still being serviced). Our room on the seventh floor was spacious enough for two and was always spotlessly cleaned on our return from the days activities.(However like many international hotels we had to ask room service to place a top sheet on our bed). The breakfast buffet was included in the room rate and is a must, catering for most needs.(Great way to start the day). Location was excellent and was just a short stroll to the metro rail and those all important shopping plazas. Our check out at 0300 was hassle free with our cab booked through the hotel the previous night waiting to whisk us out to the airport. Five nights at the Orchard Hotel....PRICELESS "

"Our second stay at this hotel. Room was spotless and very comfortable, staff helpful and a great location and a very good selection of food at breakfast. Have stayed in other hotels in Singapore but none have compared with this one. "

"This hotel does not provide smoking rooms. Good location, interior needs to be updated. I asked for a taxi to the airport and I was put in to a car without meter. Driver requested S$40 while taxi cost would have been around S$20. "

"Overall a very lovely hotel. The service was great. The breakfast was terrific. Our room was clean and nicely decorated."

"Good quality hotel at good location. At check-in was upgraded to Deluxe Room for add'l S$20 which included late check-out till 4 pm. Hotel wanted another S$100 for add'l 2 hrs to grant me late check-out till 6 pm, expensive! Lifts and all services worked well. Bathroom was 'noisy', had sliding door and bad AC or ventilation. Breakfast was very good with superb variety. Business Centre was accessable and worked well. Check-in and -out was easy as."

"We have stayed at the Orchard several times prior and always found the service and value to be good. This time however we were very disappointed as charges applied for basic facilities such as ice and the use of wine glasses in-room. The breakfast buffet is very good however it is so crowded it has become, on most mornings, a rabble, with queues for popular dishes. It is clear that more hotel rooms have been added without the necessary expansion of dining facilities to cater for the larger numbers (certainly the front desk staff actively promote upgrades to the lounges - to lift profits .. and also to ease the burden on the regular dining facilities. We will be looking to stay elsewhere when in Singapore next year."
