| "Oaks Shin is an adequate hotel to stay in. The room was moderately priced, clean, and bed comfortable. We found it easy to nagivate Osaka from, as the subway was quite close. Also, a supermarket and some nice restaurants were within easy access Overall, we enjoyed our stay here." |

| "Despite the room and the bathroom are small, we had a great stay in Oaks Shin Osaka. Also, unfortunately towards the end of our stay, the room next to us was quite noisy. However, we were not seriously disturbed. Hence, the overall experience was good!
The staffs were very polite and friendly. At the end of the day, our room will be nicely cleaned up. There was this day, we mistakenly put the wrong sign 'Please Do Not Disturb' at the door, not only the staff did not enter the room, they even left new towels and new toiletries at the door for us to change.
Whenever we walked pass the reception, the staffs greeted us greatly and politely. This made our stay even more cheerful and wondeful at the foreign country.
The hotel is strategically located, with one subway station and one train station just within 3-5 minutes walk. Worth mentioning, the train station could offer direct express service to Kyoto, a wonder must visit city! Also, nearby the hotel, there are number of convenient stores and a supermarket which are 24hr in business. There is also pharmacy, money changer (although not clearly stated, the store mainly sells train ticket) and ATMs nearby!
If you do not mind walking. Walk from Oaks Shin Osaka to Umeda, Osaka talks about 30 minutes and the journey promises excellent view of breath-taking Umeda Skyline.
I would strongly recommend this hotel to all budget or young travellers. The hote is not a perfect place for honeymoon couples and senior travelers who do not enjoy taking local trains/transportation.

| "We stayed in the hotel for 10 nights. Staff were very friendly.
Only negative comment is that the room has a double bed and the pillows are hard and half-filled with something like rice?? But we're not small people and we managed to sleep okay.
The location of the hotel is excellent, across the road from 2 subways/trains, one of them being the main line into the main city areas, which also connects to other subways.
At the airport ask the information booth for the subway map and ask the lady to mark the stations you need to get to on it (one-page - easy to carry around). Also go to the tourist booth 20 metres on and get an Osaka City Map (big fold-out map)- excellent - has all the main areas and subway/train lines for future trips during your stay.
When you get to the train station, in the airport building, buy a ticket from the ticket bloke as the ticket machines are really confusing the first time. Just show him the map the info booth gave you. Will cost about 1100 yen per person.
From the Airport catch the Nankai train line to Namba Station. Get off, then catch the Midosuji Subway line (usually written in red) to the nishi-minm.. station (whatever the name is as written by others). As you get off the train at the nishi-minm.. station turn left and go down the steps at exit 2. Then go left again and cross the road. To the right is another main road with lights. Cross this and go straight - it is two or three buildings on the left called Oaks Hotel. Basically it is diagonal from the station across the main road.
People are very friendly and happy to help if you ask them.
The area the hotel is in has a lot of eating places and can find almost anything to eat. More Western snacks can be bought from the supermarkets, and there are also a few laundromats. There's restaurant nearby called Ondorian with a picture of a chicken on it's board (it's a chicken restaurant). They have 100 yen 'happy time' from 5 to 7, and their food is Oi-shii (delicious) especially their cheese wrapped in bacon satays.
We found everything we needed in this area, and the people were very friendly. And safe at night.
Overall, we were really worried about transport, the hotel, etc, but it was not as stressful as we thought it would be. And things start making sense after a few days.
Good luck!" |

| "everyone said that semi double is very small. i dont think so.. in fact there are still spaces for my plushies when me and my friend sleeps in.
the location is great. it is like 5mins walking distance to the subway midosuji, and lawson convenience store.
however, if you have very heavy luggages, there might be a problem for you to lug it to the airport via trains. they do not have bus services to airport.if you take a cab, it will be tooo expensive.it will cost you 17K plus.
the cleaniless is okay. i found a used soft drink under the bed on my last day stay there. i guess it has been there for a long long time.
although it looks like a motel, it is still value for money especially u are looking for a place just to rest your feet and sleep. " |
