I stayed in this old hotel from 9 till 13 April 07 and the following are my comments. The front desk staffers were very helpful. The buffet breakfast served only local fare which was fine with me and was a refreshing change of diet. However, the location of Matahari Hotel is way out of the city centre and one has to commute by bus, which cost 2000Rp. per trip, to Malioboro Road. For the amount paid, one could stay in a much better hotel in the vicinity of Jogja city.
