"Superb architecture of the hotel with the view onto Borubudur and the volcanos is unique Remarkable level of very personal service Even with all of that though, the price is hard to justify The reason I would not return is that I do not plan to visit Borobudur a second time and short of that, there is little to do around that would justify a trip there"

"Very beautiful but totally overpriced, as are all incidentals. Two meals and two 2 hour tours set us back another $500, on top of the $700 for one night. A major complaint--we had the air conditioner on the coldest setting yet the room was uncomfortably hot. For $700 per night, the room should be downright cold if I want it that way. Very good service but a bit overdone. That level of attention makes me uncomfortable. It was also the only place in Indonesia where I felt the hospitality was not genuine but, rather, extended because of the price paid. I felt as though everyone was putting on "airs"."
