| "My family of four booked a villa (with private swimming pool) and stayed there for 6 days. The initial impression of the entire resort and room was great. The first hiccup came when the room which we have booked for triple did not come with an additional bed. When I asked the front desk, they expect me to pay for the additional bed. We refused and insisted that we have already paid a premium for triple sharing and that this matter was between the hotel and its local agent to settle. Minutes after we checked into our beautiful villa (I must say the villa was very nice), we experienced black-out. In our six days' stay there, we experienced at least four times of such black-out. On our second night, the water pipe or water tank in our bathroom broke and flooded the entire bathroom. As it was close to midnight then, my family has to leave without toilet flush and water for the entire night till 8+ the next morning. Though breakfast was included in the package, the variety was not there and food does not taste good at all. There is no gym in the resort either. I tried the spa package and can suggest that you forget about trying. It is one of those make-shift room and the bathtub that they soak you in was filthy and smelly. It was such a pity that with a good villa layout, beautiful interior decorations, the place is not well managed at all. The service standards cannot measure up to the international brands though the ambience is nice." |

| "The room is pretty ok, but given a choice i would take the deluxe suite instead. BIG difference as compared to the Terrace. The hotel is undergoing rectification hence internet access in room is not available hence not suitable for business travellers. The breakfast at the hotel provide limited varieties. Overall, its a good choice for budget travellers." |

| "We stayed in the Santosa Villas & Resort Hotel for four nights and absolutely loved it! We had booked a Terrace room via Asia.com for about EUR27 per night including breakfast. The room was clean but very basic so we decided to have a look at the Villa and the Deluxe room. The Villa was something else (you even have your own pool) but our budget would not really go that far. We upgraded to the Delux room for about EUR65 per night which was the best decision ever. The bathroom is as big as a bedroom and has a huge walk-in shower. You have a seperate dressing room, a massive Queen size bed and big plasma TV. The staff is very helpful and friendly. One evening the whole area had a powercut for about 4 minutes and as an apology they brought us chocolate fudge cake to our room. Lovely! We went to Lombok during Ramadan which did not effect us in any way at all. The good thing was actually that we had the pool to ourselves during the day because during that time its relatively quiet on the Island. We definitely recommend the hotel!" |

| "The hotel was being renovated while we were staying there, the rooms were fine it just looked like more restaurant or bars were being added to the complex which were needed.
There were a lot of business and travel groups staying at the hotel, who were given preference to restaurant areas etc.
The pool is great, but there is no private beach area for this hotel so if you do want to be on the beach you will have to deal with the sellers.

| "The Intan is in a great location, has a wonderful pool/beachside area, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We did enjoy it.
But the hotel is showing its age. It needs to be extensively renovated, to keep its position in the market (eg lights fell off walls, the air conditioners kept on breaking down, the power went off repeatedly, the TV hardly worked, the drainage was unsatisfactory, paint is flaking off the walls). In fact there are extensive renovations underway (some cottages are being refurbished, and new ones are being built) which was not really a problem, but which detracted from the holiday atmosphere a bit.
The other issue was cost. Given how rundown the place was, we thought the cost was too high, relative to other hotels in the area that we visited." |

| "Previous comments about this hotel were obviously out of date and totally misleading. This is a superb hotel, with wonderful facilities, food and great staff. I don't know anywhere else you could find such a wonderful place for $US35. I tried three different rooms over my stay ($35 - $45) to check the place
out well and all were excellent. The huge well-kept gardens, tennis courts, layout, superb pool and tropical setting are perfect, also close to a huge range of excellent and good value restaurants. Try the hotel spa and range of massages around $US15! I valued the comfort and tranquility also. AND they are even starting to renovate and upgrade rooms! Everyone I spoke to staying at the hotel was very pleased and happy. I was so impressed at the value that I aim to take colleagues and friends there next time. Tours and car rental were also good value.
And re. previous comments about the hawkers on the beach and town streets, they are gentle, non-threatening and trying to earn a respectable living on a poor island. Why don't you buy something for a dollar or two and help them to live! Oh, and I did see one mosquito in the bathroom but she/he didn't like the insect spray a tropical tourist might normally have. I also saw the other hotels and Intan village (also called Intan Laguna) be my first choice when I return." |

| "location in center of Sengiggi was good but facilities everywhere showed huge impact of "wear and tear", some investments in this hotel have to be done; the breakfast buffet was alright but the price for this night was not adequate. " |

| "A nicely located hotel that gives you the impression of a more glorious past. New firm leadership seems needed. Staff is friendly but it should not be difficult to find room-keys or to make sure the restaurant has beer. Food not impressive. Maintenance/ redoing needed. Nice pool and beach.
You get roughly what you pay for, nothing more." |
