| "The Batavia hotel is in a great location, close to the train station, a large shoping centre and other local attactions. The outside of the building looks nice unfortunatly the rooms are something to be desired. Our room was noisy due to the disco 7 floors below, theres no sound proofining on the windows which also leeked when it rained, the furnature was broken, the carpet was stained and the bathroom was covered in mould, this was the first room. The second was the same and the last, well... lets just say quieter with a worse bathroom! (we move three times in 2 days). This hotel is only 12 years old and all the problems are due to the owners not spending the money on ongoing repairs from day one which is a real shame. The staff a wonderful, security is great, their chinese resurant is fantastic. They do not exchange travellers cheques (a problem we encounted elswhere in Java also)so if you want to stay there cash is the go. " |
