| "It was a disaster from the day before I checked in. The hotel could not arrange a transfer for a female guest arriving at 10.30pm: no way at all. I had to arrange my agent to go and collect her. Our room was located miles away from the breakfast, pool and other facilities. The air-conditioner did not work properly. We arrived having booked and paid for 4 adults (1 x 12yo) and I child of 7 years (clearly stated on our booking slip). The Pacific World brochure listed him incorrectly as 3yo. We were told that children must sleep in the existing bedding (4 beds) otherwise we would be charged an extra 15USD per night for a rollout bed. We dispute this daily for the 8 nights we were there and in the end the hotel literally held us hostage until we paid for the extra bed: put down the boom gates and refused to let us leave. We suggested that they call the police but to wait would have made us miss our flight so we were forced to pay. Keep reading: our first morning at breakfast the grumpy staff member cleared all the empty tables around us before he cleared the one we were sitting at. Only staff that were friendly were at the pool towel bench, the ground staff and the trainees. It's like there is a cancer in the place. One night my son and I went to get a drink and milkshake at the bench bar at 10.35pm and our greeting was "this section closes at 11pm." We were then told that this bar had closed and we had to go to the main bar. My son went there and was told that he couldn't get his order. He asked the first worker to come with him and it turned out that the kitchen had closed and he could not get a milkshake. Thanks for telling him that. It is also in a very poor location: you have to travel the full distance of the Kuta beach to get to the entrance. This street is like a carpark. Otherwise, only entry is on foot. They do not care about customer service. I import from Bali and explained the negative impact my stay could have and was told: "we have plenty of guests". While there we witnessed at least 3 other groups having arguments with the lobby staff. On one occasion my daughter and 7yo son were separated from me while out shopping and asked the lobby staff if she could call me. She was told that she would have to pay for the call before she could use the telephone. In all cost disputes the staff told us that they would have to pay for it out of their wage if we didn't pay. I am a frequent traveller especially to Bali and I have never written a negative review before. It was disgraceful and it ruined my stay in Bali. I have never felt so emotional about a stay in my life. I challenge Asia Rooms to let this be posted. Let's see...." |

| "Do not stay at this hotel! From the minute we arrived they were after more money. Even showing them proof of booking and payment insisted on extra per night for a 7 year old child that hadn't been provided with a bed regardless of booking and payment proof. Then on departure called security and locked the gate until we paid......giving us no choice, or we would miss our flight. I have never stayed at a hotel that openly admitted they didn't care that they ruined our holiday, or that they would get very negative feedback. They are only interested in money. One example being; our children got separated from us so they went back to reception and asked if they could ring their mother as they had lost her......the response was "you must pay first"!! The location and pools are great but the Management and staff were the worst I have ever come across in all my travels. Don't do it, go anywhere else!

| "I did not have hot water in the bathroom; I complained the first day at the reception but they did not fix it before I left.
I ordered my shirts washed, ironed and folded from the laundry service, but I got them unfolded.
The rest was fine. Friendly hotel staff all over the place.
I missed wireless internet connection in the room. The package for internet access (in the lobby only: 45 minutes within 24 hours) they have is fair.
As in too many other Asian places, the beach is polluted with all sorts of waste. Depending on wind conditions, you are swimming between hundreds of plastic bags in the sea. With litte effort (overnight cleaning the beautiful sand beach), a much nicer situation could be created!" |

| "Internet was down for 2 days when we stayed there, none of the free activities (as described in the hotel program) actually happened and the beach in front of the dirty and too dangerous for swimming... will not recommend the hotel." |

| "Note: Their wifi does not work and they charge for internet access. 45,000 Rp / 45 minutes or 100,000 Rp for Unlimited access within a 24hr period. For what we paid for the hotel room / night we expected for it to be included - major disappointment.
The hotel itself is very nice and is located in an optimum location as you have access to Kuta for a $1 (10,000 IRD) cab ride but not all of the beach traffic / crowd of Kuta.
The hotel grounds are immaculate, they keep the rooms exceptionally clean and all of the staff are very nice.
If you want to go somewhere close in a cab, go to the bellboys and ask for a "metered taxi" and they will call one for you at no charge. I wouldn't recommend dealing with the travel desk because in our experiences they were VERY overpriced. You also don't have to walk out on the street the hotel sits on and be badgered by all of the taxi drivers there.
Our bathroom had a sewage smell the entire time we stayed (2 weeks) even after saying something to the people who clean the room.
Also, the Bale Banjar Restaurant & Gino's Pizza Parlour (on-site restaurants) have horrible service so predictably we only ate there once each.
The breakfast buffet is INCREDIBLE every morning and I definitely looked forward to the fresh banana pancakes and assorted fruits." |

| "I very much enjoyed my stay at the Legian Beach Hotel.
Initially there was a problem getting the room I had booked but the issue was resolved quickly, thanks to the fact that I had printed out a diagram of my room.
The location of the hotel was excellent and the buffet breakfast was superb." |
