| "I was only half kidding went I sent an e-mail home saying, “Found paradise, sell the house, send the dogs!” The island is a wonderful departure from the hustle and bustle of Denpasar. Every morning I woke up and took a picture from the view on the balcony of our room. Every morning it was beautiful and different than the morning before.
The hotel, well, what can I say. From our welcoming drink to Julie’s good-bye hug, these people cared. We were not treated as guests of the establishment, but as a guest of Troy and his staff. They were there each morning to assist us in any excursions we wanted to do, offer suggestions if we desired and at the end of the day, they really wanted to know how the day was. We wanted to know about the village and the culture, and they were more than happy to share. The staff was impeccable. Within a day, they knew how we drank our coffee, our names and truly made us feel as honored and special guests. The people are truly generous and giving. You can buy souvenirs, but you won’t be aggressively pursued like you will in Denpasar.
The rooms. The view. From the outdoor bathtubs with a view, to the view from the balcony there is not a more beautiful sight. Whether it was sunrise and the gentle fog lifting over the village, with shades of pink and blue reflecting on the water, or during the night when they harvested the seaweed by lantern and moonlight. Check out the surf on playgrounds, shipwreck, lacerations or razors all from your balcony, if the surf's not up, it's ok, there is always a tour of the island or some of the best snorkeling anywhere! It’s island time. Sit back, relax and enjoy the surfing and the beautiful snorkeling." |
